Daequan Winbush Foundation

Mental health, suicide prevention, and hope for young adults and athletes.

The Daequan Winbush Foundation uses storytelling, combat sports, and community events to open real conversations about mental health. We build spaces where strength and vulnerability can exist in the same ring, the same stage, and the same conversation.

Our Mission

The Daequan Winbush Foundation is dedicated to mental-health awareness and suicide prevention, with a focus on young adults, creatives, and athletes who often feel pressure to “be strong” and suffer in silence. We connect people with real resources, amplify local organizations doing the work, and create events that make it easier to talk about what hurts.

What We Do

  • Awareness Events: Free, community-focused events that combine sport, music, and storytelling to break stigma around mental health and suicide.
  • Partnerships & Outreach: Collaboration with mental-health providers, youth programs, gyms, and community centers to bring resources directly to people where they are.
  • Storytelling & Education: Live and digital stories of resilience, struggle, and recovery that point people toward professional help and support.

The Daequan Winbush Foundation does not provide clinical counseling or crisis services. If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 or contact local emergency services.

FFL: Fight the Silence

Fight the Silence is our inaugural foundation showcase: a free community event that combines amateur boxing exhibitions, kickboxing, and live hip-hop performances inside the Bishop Leo E. O’Neil Youth Center in Manchester, NH. Every round and every verse is about one message: you are not alone.

  • Date: Saturday, February 21st, 2026
  • Location: Bishop Leo E. O’Neil Youth Center, Manchester, NH
  • Admission: Free to the public

The night features boxing and kickboxing exhibitions, live music and spoken word, vendor tables, and mental-health outreach partners sharing resources and support.

About the Founder

Daequan Winbush is a writer, filmmaker, and founder of ShadowForge Media. After seeing firsthand how many people struggle quietly with depression, anxiety, and thoughts of suicide—especially in creative communities and combat sports—he created the Daequan Winbush Foundation to turn his platforms into places of connection and support.

The foundation is an extension of his core belief: great things can be built from nothing, and nobody should have to carry everything alone.

Get Involved

Bring a resource table, sponsor a segment, volunteer at Fight the Silence, or collaborate on future programs. We’re building this with the community, not just for it.
