Jamal Watts' story is one of pain, anger, and redemption. Born into a broken family, Jamal’s early life was marred by neglect, fueled by his mother’s drug addiction and the absence of a father figure. His emotional turmoil from the very beginning of his life led him to act out in violent ways, becoming the bully instead of the bullied. He carried his anger like armor, lashing out at anyone who crossed his path, building walls around his heart and pushing people away before they could hurt him.

The world didn’t offer him much kindness, but that all changed when he met Tianna Smith. Tianna, with her empathic ability to see and connect with Jamal’s pain, reached a part of him that no one else could. Despite his harsh exterior, Jamal found solace in her understanding and slowly began to shed the layers of his bitterness. They fell in love, and for the first time, Jamal found hope in something other than rage.

However, their happiness was short-lived. In a brutal twist of fate, Tianna was shot by Will Bohmer during a violent altercation, pushing Jamal to his breaking point. As Tianna lay in the hospital, clinging to life, Jamal’s rage reached its peak, and he made a drastic decision that would change everything. In his desperation, Jamal stole an experimental serum from the hospital and injected it into both himself and Tianna, unknowingly unlocking a torrent of power within them both.

Jamal's powers manifested as kinetic manipulation—he could move and control objects with his mind. His rage-fueled abilities made him a force to be reckoned with, but with it came a new sense of responsibility and the realization that he could finally fight for something greater than himself. Tianna, now a mind reader with the power to heal, became his anchor, and together, they joined forces with Bobby and Max to form The Ruin, a group built on vengeance, survival, and finding purpose in a world that had given them nothing.

Though Jamal’s powers have made him more than capable of destruction, he still grapples with his inner turmoil. His struggle with anger management continues, but he’s slowly learning to use his powers for the greater good, fighting alongside his newfound family in The Ruin.
